The research process is an integral part to my work. With a comprehensive understanding (context, history, social/cultural/political implications, etc) of a topic I feel better equipped to represent it accurately. I am very interested in the nuances within data and the ways in which they can become visual cues and guidelines for the design. By using the research as a reference point for design I am able to extract meaning in an organic and honest manner.

With each project there is a long digital & paper trail of my approach. Scribblings in sketchbooks and culled information within process books are the foundation to all my work. This to me is just as important as the final product.
